International Airport Juan Santamaria (SJO)

Juan Santamaría International Airport is 17 kilometers away from the San Jose downtown (Where the National Theater is) and 3.75 kilometers from the Alajuela downtown at the Central Park. The airport is situated at an altitude of 921 meters above sea level and has a paved runway with a length of 3012 meters and a width of 45 meters. With 3.3 million passengers annually, more than 40 international airlines and increased air cargo volume, Juan Santamaría (SJO) is the largest airport in the country and one of the largest sources of foreign exchange earnings.

Depends on the airline you may enter directly through the airport terminals to the building or leave the aircraft via a catwalk and bus transfer to the main building. The average duration with immigration and customs to enter the country does not need more than 45 minutes and you can leave the airport.

Attention! Tobias Bolaños international airport (SYQ) San José, Pavas

Tobias Bolanos International Airport is located 9 miles west from downtown San Jose in the Pavas district and 11 kilometers southeast of the Juan Santamaria International Airport. The airport with a paved runway of 1612 meters length and 23 meters width is mainly used for domestic airlines as Nature Air, Paradise Air, Aerobell and so on. Tobias Bolanos Airport also offers direct flights to Bocas del Toro (Panama) and Granada (Nicaragua).

Daniel Oduber Quiros international Airport (LIR), Guanacaste

The Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport of Liberia in the Guanacaste province is located 12.46 kilometers southwest of Liberia (Central Park) and 217 kilometers from the capital San Jose. The airport had a paved runway of 2,741 meters length and 45 meters width, is frequented mainly by tourists from North America, because a large number of popular tourist destinations, such as Tamarindo Beach, Golfo de Papagayo, Conchal Beach, Flamingo Beach, Coco Beach, Grande Beach, Brasilito Beach and so on is a few miles away. Weekly flights arriving from Toronto, Miami, Newark, Los Angeles, New York, Calgary, Vancouver, Chicago and Charlotte.
